Biography
>In the beginning River spent most of her life as a slave- either on the dying ranch in Southern Thanalan where she was raised, or as a sex slave to the man her childhood friend sold her out to in exchange for his own fame and fortune. Refusing slave life as her destiny, she stole her freedom and began living her life as her own. Nothing short of a miracle, she found her biological grandfather- a Bozjan war hero known as 'The Bozjan Bifrost', who mentored her in the ways of life, wisdom, and the art of her people: the gunblade.
>As life would have in store for her, many character-defining moments awaited River. Losing herself after the loss of her husband and child in a fire, she struggled with her morality and her direction in life. Falling on hard times, she turned to a life of crime as a form of empowerment in an attempt to take back what life had stolen from her- her happiness, her identity, and her feeling of control. As she would learn, the life of organized crime was not for her, but the friends that became family within the organization did. With their help and guidance, River was finally able to find herself again after struggling for so long in the dark. Unafraid, she stands on her own- knowing that she can trust in herself and the bonds that she had forged in the most unlikeliest of places.
>River now spends her days with friends, and her recently reunited biological family in Shaaloani whenever she's not working all across Tural for the trade company she founded and established- Cornerstone Trading Co. Unlike the mafia where she first learned of business, she leads her company with fairness instead of fear, generosity for the people instead of her own greed. Hellsbent on making a difference for good in the world, a large portion of her booming sales feed back into the communities in which she trades where she improves the lives of the workers, and invests back in the business, setting her company and her partners up for long-term, sustainable success. Starting from a life of impoverishment and slavery, River now wants for nothing and focuses mainly on her and her family's happiness, and the happiness of those that surround her.
>Looking to the future, River is always eager to meet her next business partner or associate and is always looking to help others out. A charitable sort, she loves giving back to the community, sponsoring artisans of all creeds, and reuniting with fellow Bozjans and donating to the Bozjan Resistance in her grandfather's name to help support her fellow sons and daughters of Bozja and the rebuilding of their homeland. In terms of long-term goals, River is happy where she is, though she wouldn't mind if the powers that be granted her more friends, more found-family, and maybe even a loving spouse or two in which she could start to raise her own family with.
